Welcome to my website!:

Hello there, fellow bug enthusiast! 😊 I’m Richard, and I am passionate about all things bugs! With over 20 years of experience in studying exotic invertebrates and education, I have dedicated my life to exploring the fascinating world of insects.

From my earliest memories, I have been captivated by the wonders of the natural world. This lifelong fascination has led me to rear and study hundreds of species in my private collection, where I have gained invaluable insights into their behaviours, unique traits, and care needs.

Over the years, I have helped to establish and manage several major Facebook insect groups as an admin and moderator as a trusted advisor for Mantodea, Phasmatodea, Coleoptera and Lepidoptera care. Due to university commitments, those days have since passed but now, my main goal is to create a reliable hub of information for hobbyists and professionals alike. This website is designed to be a one-stop guide to the natural history of insects from around the world, filled with data and observations from my experiences and collaborations with colleagues over the past two decades.

In 2023, I graduated with a distinction in a Master’s in Environmental Science from the University of Warwick. I have since used this freed up time to expand up my private collection to be able to offer surplus insects via my sister website - www.richardsinverts-store.com. Through this platform, I hope to be able to offer the community the chance to acquire both classic hobby species to rare species new to science! You can access the store via the link at the top right of the site for desktop users or in the site navigation dropdown for mobile users.
